Steel sheet parts: Nowadays it is usual to use parts made of steel sheet to solve designs where some characteristics are needed. Amongst others: strength, low weight, good repeatability, high dimensional stability, possibility of assembly by welding and high temperature stability.
It is frequent to use tools and dies for the manufacture in mass production of parts in steel sheet, stainless steel, aluminium and other metals.
For our production hydraulic and mechanical presses are used.
Familiar and simple examples of steel sheet parts are the motor engine sumps, car suspension wishbones, ornament and decoration objects, fire extinguishers (in this case made of two halves moulded and welded together) kitchen household items…
Steel sheet drawing is a very adequate process for the manufacture of thin steel sheet parts with complex surfaces and highly demanding dimensional requirements, replacing successfully parts traditionally manufactured by casting and machining, like sumps and rocker covers. The use of high tensile metal sheet allows as well the production of structural parts of high responsibility and big stresses.
Other operations are performed like metal spinning, sized, laser cut (2D & 3D), folding, plasma or water jet cutting.
